Overview
At New Ross PC Repairs, we take your privacy and the security of your personal data seriously. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit our website, contact us, or use our repair services in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Information we collect
To provide our repair and support services, we may collect the following types of information:
- Contact Information: Your name, email address, phone number, and physical address (required for our local collection and drop-off service).

- Login Credentials: Windows passwords or PIN codes, strictly when necessary to boot your machine for diagnostics, repairs, or performance testing.
- Service History: Records of the repairs carried out, invoices, and payment status.
How we use information
We only use your personal data for the following business purposes:
- To arrange collections, provide repair quotes, and return your devices.
- To perform hardware repairs, software tuning, and data recovery or transfers.
- To communicate with you via phone, email, or WhatsApp regarding the status of your repair.
- To process payments and maintain legal accounting records.
Device Data & Privacy During Repairs
We understand that your computer contains sensitive personal files. We adhere to a strict workshop data policy:
- No Unauthorized Access: We do not open, view, or copy your personal files (such as documents, photos, or browsing history) unless it is explicitly required to fulfill a service you requested, such as a Data Transfer or Data Recovery.
- Temporary Workshop Storage: If we are performing a data backup or transfer for you, your data may be temporarily held on our secure internal workshop drives. Once the transfer is successfully completed and verified by you, your data is permanently and securely erased from our workshop drives.
- Remote Support: If you use our remote support tool, we only have access to your screen while the session is active. Once you close the application, the connection is permanently severed, and we cannot access your computer.
Sharing Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We only share information with trusted third parties when absolutely necessary to run the business, such as:
- Payment processors (e.g., Stripe, Revolut) to securely handle transactions.
- Accounting software for invoicing and tax compliance.
Data Retention
We retain your contact details and service history only for as long as necessary to honour our 30-day labour guarantees, provide future support, and comply with Irish tax and accounting laws.
