Client Support Tools
To help get your computer back up and running as quickly as possible, we use a few trusted, lightweight diagnostic tools. If you are currently speaking with our team or preparing for a repair appointment, you may be asked to download one of the tools below.
1. Quick Support (Remote Assistance)
If you need immediate help with a software issue, we can securely access your screen to fix the problem without you having to leave your home. We use a free, highly secure remote tool called RustDesk.
- Step 1: Download RustDesk Here
- Step 2: Open the downloaded file (no installation required).
- Step 3: Give us a call and read the 9-digit ID and Password displayed on your screen.
- Note: We only have access to your screen while the program is open. Once you close it, the connection is permanently severed.
2. System Specifications Checker
Not sure exactly what hardware is inside your computer? Speccy is a free, lightweight tool that generates a quick summary of your processor, memory, and storage drives.
- Step 1: Download Piriform Speccy Here
- Step 2: Install and open the program.
- Step 3: Wait a few seconds for it to scan your system, then take a photo of the “Summary” screen to send to us.
3. Quick Adware & Pop-up Scanner
If your web browser is running slowly, redirecting you to strange websites, or bombarding you with pop-ups, a quick scan with AdwCleaner can often clear the blockage instantly.
- Step 1: Download AdwCleaner Here
- Step 2: Open the file (no installation required) and click “Scan Now”.
- Step 3: Once the scan finishes, let it quarantine any threats it finds and restart your computer if prompted.
4. Internet Speed Test
Sometimes a “slow computer” is actually just a slow Wi-Fi connection! Before booking a repair, it is always worth checking your broadband speed to rule out internet issues.
- Step 1: Click here to run a Speed Test
- Step 2: Wait for the numbers to stop moving.
- Step 3: Let us know what your “Download” and “Upload” speeds are when you get in touch.
Still need help? If you aren’t sure which tool to use, don’t worry! Head over to our Contact Page to send a message, or give us a call to discuss the best next steps for your machine.
