Agreement to terms

Welcome to New Ross PC Repairs. The following Terms and Conditions govern both your use of this website and any physical or remote repair services provided by us. By browsing this website or booking a repair, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Part 1: Repair Service Terms & Conditions

1. Data Loss and Liability Waiver

The customer acknowledges that data loss can occur during diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair procedures due to hardware failure, software corruption, or necessary operating system reinstalls. New Ross PC Repairs is not responsible for the loss, corruption, or compromise of any data, software, or files stored on the device. It is the customer’s sole responsibility to ensure all critical data is backed up prior to handing over the equipment, unless a specific data backup or transfer service has been explicitly requested and itemized on the work order.

2. Pre-Existing Damage and Unforeseen Hardware Failure

Computers and electronic devices can experience sudden component failure, particularly when existing hardware is already degrading or compromised. New Ross PC Repairs is not liable for components that fail during the normal course of diagnostics or repair (e.g., a degraded hard drive finally failing during a virus scan). Furthermore, New Ross PC Repairs is not responsible for pre-existing physical damage, including but not limited to cracked hinges, damaged chassis, or degraded batteries not explicitly caused by the repair process.

3. Diagnostic and Collection Fees

If a technician is dispatched for a collection, or if diagnostics are performed and the customer subsequently declines the quoted repair, a non-refundable standard diagnostic fee (and/or fuel surcharge for collections outside our immediate local area) will apply. This fee covers travel, labor, and diagnostic time. If the repair quote is approved, this fee is fully absorbed into the final invoice total.

4. Payment and Abandoned Equipment

Full payment is required prior to the release of any repaired equipment. Any device left uncollected, or where an invoice remains unpaid, for a period exceeding 30 days from the date the customer was notified of repair completion, will be legally classified as abandoned. Abandoned equipment becomes the property of New Ross PC Repairs and may be wiped of all data, recycled, or sold to recover the cost of parts, unpaid labor, and storage.

5. Warranty Limitations

New Ross PC Repairs provides a 30-day warranty on labour performed. Physical replacement parts are subject strictly to their respective manufacturer’s warranties. Our labour warranty is immediately voided if the device is found to have subsequent liquid damage, physical impact damage, new viral/malware infections, or if the device casing has been opened or tampered with by the customer or any third party after it leaves our possession.

6. Software and Licensing

New Ross PC Repairs will not install pirated, cracked, or unlicensed software under any circumstances. Customers must provide valid license keys for premium software (such as Microsoft Office) if a reinstall is required.

7. Remote Support Services

If you utilize our remote support services via tools like RustDesk, you agree to grant our technician temporary access to your system. We are not liable for any pre-existing network issues, software conflicts, or data loss occurring during or after a remote session.
